My Story

My résumé, brought to life.

  • With college behind me and a Marketing degree in hand, I landed my first job in B2B marketing. Then something amazing happened. I received the opportunity to take the lead on their marketing efforts. Of course, I said yes.

As a small business, building a team of marketing specialists was out of the question (and the budget). So, I became a marketing generalist—learning any and every skill needed to succeed. Some days required content marketing and social media strategy. Others focused on PR and SEO, even some graphic design.

This holistic understanding of marketing created the foundation for my effective cross-functional collaborations to come—as well as a newfound love for copywriting.

  • Everyone has at least one "ah-ha" moment in a career. Discovering that copywriting felt more like love than labor was mine. Once I found out that people were earning a living writing marketing content, I knew I had to give it a shot myself.

I went online and consumed article after article and video after video. I wrote and rewrote the infamous Volkswagen "Lemon" ad until the words felt like my own. I studied David Ogilvy and picked up an AP Stylebook. And when the time was right, I built a freelance business.

It started with one client. Then, there were more clients. My interests grew as quickly as my portfolio. Two years later, I was ready for my next challenge—corporate copywriting.

  • Making the transition to corporate marketing was daunting at first. Would the skills I'd learned working with small businesses be enough?

As it turns out, being a solo marketer, learning to do a lot with a little, and managing my own business was more than enough. Backed by the resources of large tech enterprises, I reached new levels of content marketing success.

But it wasn't just the resources that made me better. Along the way, I worked with (and learned from) some of the greatest marketing minds in tech.

  • Ready for something cheesy? My favorite part of this story is about to happen next—working with you.

There's a story that needs to be told. Whether it's your personal brand story or your employer's, I'd love to help you tell it.
